Design and engineering:
The fact that the Innova is 2 generations ahead of the Quails can easily made out at first glance. The Innova rides on a rigid tubular section chassis.It uses double wishbones with coil springs up front and the rear uses a non-independent suspension, with four links and a lateral rod with coil springs.The Innova brings together qualities never before seen together in an automobile.

Powertrain & Performance:
A brand known for its state-of-the-art engines provides a choice of seven variants and two engines for Innova. Among the 7 variants 3 are petrol variants and 4 are diesel counterparts that are powered by a 2-litre petrol and a 2.5-litre diesel respectively. The diesel variants are E, G, GX and VX whereas the petrol variants are G, GX and VX. The petrol engine employs Toyota's variable valve timing (VVT-i) technology releasing 136 bhp whereas the turbocharged diesel engine has 102 bhp on the tap and achieves peak torque of 200 Nm between 1,400 and 3,400 rpm. Both the 16-valve Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) engines are liquid cooled and are connected to the rear wheels by a buttery soft 5-speed manual transmission.
Safety:
Toyota Innova is loaded with many advanced safety appurtenances like Load Sensing Proportion Valve (LSPV), which provides good braking performance. The passenger cell has 3 point ELR (Emergency Locking Reactor) seatbelts to minimize damage in case of collision and side door impact beams. Other safety features of the MPV include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual front SRS airbags, child protector locks, Theft Deterrent System etc.
