Jhalawar the land of the Jhalas, has a past and the unexplored treasures of history in this region are a great attraction for the adventure and scholar of history. Jhalawar, formerly belonging to the district of Kota, was established circa 1838 A.D. The brainchild of the British Empire, it is one of the most coveted tourist destinations of Rajasthan. As time passed, his descendants added exquisite paintings inside the rooms of the fort. Some of the most delightful wall paintings can be seen in the Zenana Khas.

Jhalrapatan is located 6 Km from Jhalawar is known as the 'City of Bells' - derived from its numerous temples and their bells. A unique feature about this town is that the entire township resides within the confines of a wall which was built to protect the trade caravans as it was one of the junctions of the trade route. One can visit some beautiful temples: Surya tempes, Chandrabhaga temples & Shantinath Jain temple.

Bhawani Natya Shala is a theatre built for the performance of plays and other cultural events. Situated near the fort, the theatre was built by Maharaja Bhawani Singh in 1921. The theatre once housed great plays like Shakuntalam and Shakespeare's classics. It is adorned with exquisite architecture and is a unique structure in itself. It is believed to be one of the only eight structures in the world with a deep under the stage construction, allowing horses, and even chariots to appear on stage.
