Tata Manza

The new generation Tata Indigo Manza (sedan) has just been launched in India, featuring a completely new body, platform, interior and exterior styling. The new sedan is much bigger in size and interior space, as it measures more than 4.4 m in length, a width of 1.7 m, and a wheel base of 2,520 mm.“The Indigo Manza is a modern, contemporary sedan on a new car platform that has the potential to emerge as a class leader,” said Ratan N. Tata, Chairman, Tata Sons and Tata Motors, at the launching event.Among the exterior styling highlights are the three barreled headlamps at the front and the large 15 wheels, as well as the chrome inserts on the rub rails and outer door handles. The new look is completed by the monolithic angular shaped tail lamps at the rear.

Tata Manza exterior:

It is from the front three quarter view that the Manza looks a little bit awkward, as you can see from the photo here. The bonnet still looks like it belongs on a hatchback, not a sedan. I am not sure if the effect is indeed an worsened by the wide angle lens used in the photograph. This is the one sore spot on the Tata Manza which otherwise looks like a well thought out package. It probably is not as bad as it looks like in the photo below.

Tata Motors have confirmed that the Indigo Manza will remain as a standalone platform and will not spawn other variants, like in the previous generation.[3]

Features:

Manza has some of the most luxurious features like a 2 DIN music system which supports USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, driver information system, steering mounted audio controls, ABS, Dual front airbags, colour changing tachometer needle which turns red when the car reaches to the redline, engine immobilizer and central locking based on the variants available.

Performance:

With the doors closed, you can barely hear the starter cranking the engine, the diesel power plant quickly settles to a quite whirr that one can mistake for being petrol. Nothing much needs to be said about engine refinement as this features the highly advanced and capable 1.3 Multijet diesel sourced from Fiat. As you may know it’s the same engine that’s featured on the Swift, Swift Dzire, Palio, Linea, the Indica Vista and even the Ritz. Manufacturers have tuned this engine for their specific performance requirements, while Maruti calls it the DDiS, Tata calls it the Quadrajet. It’s a pure gem of an engine.

Design & Comfort:

Largely inspired from Tata Indica vista, the front part of Tata Manza retains the sweeping angular headlights, with a dual projector barrel shaped reflectors that typically characterize Indica Vista design. Tata ManzaThe front bumper in the car features a big dam, with black finish and has round fog lights. The front grill is made of four horizontal lines, featuring a big Tata logo and chrome finish upper lip. The center owes its classy look and elegance to the vertical tail lamps at the rear end.

A chrome strip runs across the rear bumper, imparting a big and wide look to the car. The exquisite looks of the car live up to it catchy slogan 'Indulge In Style'.With its cool and spacious interiors, Tata Indigo Manza scores well as a comfortable car. It features spacious legroom and headroom, making the ride extremely enjoyable for the front as well as the rear seat passengers.

Engine:

The engine of Tata Manza has been sourced by Fiat. It is available in two engine options, 1.3-liter petrol engine that is known as Safire and 1.4 liter diesel engine called Quadrajet. The petrol version of the car is also available with an ABS option. The capacity of the petrol engine goes up to 1248 cc. Manza engine will generate a maximum output of 89 Bhp @ 4000 rpm. Manza's petrol variant will have a CRDi fuel system and the diesel variant will have FSI. The car has a standard 5-speed manual transmission for all the models. The diesel model delivers a torque of 200 Nm@1750 rpm and the diesel variant has a torque of 116 Nm@4750 rpm.

Safety:

The host of advanced safety features in Tata Manza includes a superior crash-tested Cockpit Design, Dual Front Airbags, Antilock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) and Front Disc Brakes. Passive safety features are Side Impact Beams, Height Adjustable Front Seatbelts, Warning Lamp for Driver Seatbelt, Front Passenger Seatbelt Reminder, Child Locks and Central Locking. Wider tubeless tyres with alloys option are also available.

Build & Styling:

The Tata Indigo Manza is the best looking Tata car on road. The mid-size sedan is modern, contemporary in design and makes a bold styling statement. The front fascia of the Indigo Manza is endowed with striking wraparound three barreled headlamps that add to the linearity and deliver a feline aggressive appearance to the car.

The front bumper of the Manza features a big air dam which is finished in black shade and houses the powerful round fog lights. The front grille consists of four chrome horizontal lines and is dominated by the big Tata logo and chrome finish upper lip. The chrome inserts on the side impact strips and outer door handles lends a classy look to the Indigo Manza.
